Our gorgeous Pachawawa (Earth Child) is handmade from clay sourced from the banks of Matakana.

Clay is a porous material, which increases airflow, and aids evaporation of excess moisture, which can prevent a wet and smelly compost pile.

Food scraps placed in our Pacha Pots break down in an aerobic environment, which is in the presence of nitrogen (greens), carbon (browns) oxygen, and moisture.

Your compost will be ready in approx. 3 months, although this can vary depending on the number of people in your household and your food consumption.

You can also add worms to your base however it is recommended you first become comfortable with using your Pacha Pot before considering vermicomposting (composting with worms).

The Pachawawa comes with a base and two tiers. Depending on the size of your household and the amount of food scraps you produce, you can add up to 3 tiers. It is recommended you start with two tiers. If you require a 3rd tier, please email hello@pachacompost for purchase.

You can also purchase 3 bottom bases with lids to be placed side
by side (instead of stacked). Ideal for elderly or those unable to lift.
