Pachamama Clay Composter
Pachamama Clay Composter
Our matriarch of the Pacha Pot family, the Pachamama (Mother Earth) is handmade from clay sourced from the banks of Matakana.
Clay is a porous material that increases airflow, aids evaporation of excess moisture, and can prevent a wet and odorous compost pile.
Food scraps placed in our Pacha Pots break down in an aerobic environment, which is the presence of nitrogen (greens), carbon (browns) oxygen and moisture.
Your compost will be ready in approx. 3 months, although this can vary depending on the number of people in your household and your food consumption.
You can also add worms to your base, however, it is recommended you first become comfortable with using your Pacha Pot before considering vermicomposting (composting with worms).
Best suited for households of 4-6 people.
See our step-by-step guide to using your clay composter here.
